Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment
Livelihood and Economic Empowerment

Within such a densely populated area and denuded environment, livelihood & food security is a pressing priority of the people. Moreover, as a women-focused integrated, community-based development organization, KMG believes strongly that women’s economic empowerment is necessary to developing self-confidence and to empowering their voices to say “NO” to violent situations, as well as to claiming their rightful place in society.

Responding to this need, KMG initiated a livelihood and economic empowerment program that focuses on women and youth as well as artisans. We offer vocational and skills development, and educate women on income generation, saving and credit, entrepreneurship and cooperative development, money and organizational management, banking and bookkeeping, improved production technology, asset-building and market research. In general, the program includes enhancing skills of the community and boosting their financial capacities. We backstop innovative, entrepreneurial efforts of individuals and groups, as well as helping increase household assets to ensure food security for low income households.
